During the week of May 3 – May 6, 2018, the NBCE Board of Directors will hold its annual board and state delegates meeting in conjunction with the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards’ 91st Annual Educational Conference in Dallas, Texas.

8:40                Keynote Address: Defending the Chiropractic Physician: Stroke Cases

This presentation will focus on the defense of the chiropractic physician from the beginning of the suit through trial.  After a brief presentation on some of the basic legal concepts involved in professional liability claims and the defense of the chiropractic physician, the presentation will focus on one of the most controversial and oftentimes, the most devastating claims of vertebral and carotid artery dissections that are generally attributed to the chiropractic physician’s treatment.  Mr. Floyd will take the audience through the actual trial (through video) of a chiropractic physician who was alleged to have caused bilateral dissections that resulted in permanent brain injury.  During the presentation, the audience is encouraged to ask questions and provide opinions on the subject matter.

Mr. Floyd is a board-certified medical malpractice attorney who has tried to verdict more than 90 medical malpractice trials during his 28-year career.
