NBCE Testing Update

Greeley, Colo. —  The NBCE remains committed to computer-based testing, which will provide students in the future with an improved testing experience.

On September 16, 2017, the NBCE conducted a second field trial of its new computer based test (CBT) platform.  We would like to thank all who participated in this important process. We were able to gain valuable information necessary for the continued development and refinement of this product.

Based on the recent field test results, we anticipate that the targeted goal for the launch of the new CBT platform in 2018 is still achievable, but due to the required notification timelines for 2018 examination dates, it becomes necessary for us to modify the 2018 examination schedule as follows:

  • We will administer the Parts I, II, III, and Physiotherapy exams on January 19-21, March 2-4, and August 17-19, 2018 using the traditional paper-and-pencil format.
  • We will re-introduce the CBT examinations into our schedules as soon as possible.

The modified examination dates are posted on the www.MyNBCE.org website, along with deadlines for applications, etc. Please remind your students that applications for the January exam will open on October 9, 2017; the deadline to apply is December 5, 2017.

Since this article was published there was an extension to the deadline. The deadline is now December 8, 2017.

Please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Norman Ouzts at nouzts@nbce.org if you have questions or concerns.
