NBCE 2007 BOARD OF DIRECTORS ELECTION


GREELEY, Colo.—On May 4, the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) held its Annual Board Meeting in conjunction with the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards’ (FCLB) 81st Annual Educational Conference in St. Louis, Mo.

At the luncheon and business meeting on Friday, May 4, NBCE delegates elected directors in three districts: Dr. Robin Lecy (South Dakota) in District I replacing Dr. Jerry Blanchard; Dr. Donna Craft (Michigan) in District II replacing Dr. Frank Hideg;  and Dr. Norman Ouzts (South Carolina) in District V.  Directors in the other two NBCE districts will continue their terms: Dr. Mary-Ellen Rada (New Jersey) in District III and Dr. Theodore Scott (Utah) in District IV.  District directors are elected for three-year terms.

At the organizational meeting of the NBCE Board on May 5, the Board first seated newly-elected District Directors Drs. Lecy, Craft and Ouzts and then proceeded with the election of two Directors-at-Large:  Dr. Rick Cole (Tennessee) will serve a three-year term and Dr. Edwin Weathersby (Arizona) will serve a two-year term. NBCE Directors-at-Large Dr. Vernon Temple (Vermont) and Dr. Earl Wiley (Ohio) will continue their terms.

Two remaining positions on the 11-member NBCE Board of Directors are appointed by the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards. FCLB President Dr. Oliver Smith and FCLB Vice President Dr. Daniel Saint-Germain will serve as the FCLB-Appointed Directors for the coming year.

The NBCE Board then elected the officers that form the Executive Committee. Dr. Vernon Temple was re-elected as President. Dr. Earl Wiley was elected Chairman of the Board and Dr. N. Edwin Weathersby as Vice President. Dr. Theodore Scott and Dr. Mary-Ellen Rada were re-elected as Treasurer and Secretary, respectively.

Headquartered in Greeley, Colo., the NBCE is the international testing organization for the chiropractic profession. Established in 1963, the NBCE develops, administers and scores legally defensible, standardized written and practical examinations for candidates seeking chiropractic licensure throughout the United States and in many foreign countries.
