OUZTS ELECTED TO NBCE BOARD GREELEY, Colo. —Norman Ouzts, Jr., D.C. of Greenwood, South Carolina, was elected as District V Director on Saturday, March 3, by the board of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE). District V includes the states of Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Florida. Dr. Ouzts will serve in this position until the May 4, 2007, Annual Meeting of the NBCE at which time District V will nominate a person to fill the remaining two years of the term of Dr. Steve Willen. Dr. Willen resigned as District V Director and Chairman of the Board on March 3. Dr. Ouzts is a graduate of Life University in Atlanta, Georgia. He has been in practice in Greenwood since 1992. He formerly served as District V Director of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards. During his two terms of service on the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Dr. Ouzts served as Vice Chair from 2002 to 2004 and as Chair from 2004 to 2006. Dr. Ouzts has also been a member of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association Board of Directors for the past 11 years, serving as President from 2005 to 2006. That association awarded him with a Distinguished Service Award in 2003, a Presidential Pillar of Strength Award in 2005, and named him Chiropractor of the Year in 2006. Also in 2006, Dr. Ouzts was recognized by the South Carolina Senate for his service to the chiropractic profession. Established in 1963, the NBCE develops, administers and scores legally defensible, standardized written and practical examinations for candidates seeking chiropractic licensure throughout the United States and in many foreign countries.
