The National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE) announced today that it intends to fill a board vacancy by March 1, 2015.  This vacancy was created by the passing of Dr. Gary Pennebaker.  The new at-large board member will complete Dr. Pennebaker’s term, which ends in May 2016, after which he or she will be eligible for re-election.

An At-Large Director is a voting member of the board with full authority and responsibility to uphold the NBCE’s mission:  Ensuring professional competency through excellence in testing.  He or she may serve on committees or as an officer of the Executive Committee.

Qualifications for At-Large Directors include a Bachelors, Masters and/or a Doctorate Degree (preferred).  Interested parties who have not submitted resumes within the past year may direct inquiries to Dr. Martin Kollasch at mkollasch@nbce.org  by February 13, 2015.  The complete job description is posted here.

Board members collectively set policies and goals of the non-profit NBCE, monitor the development and administration of high quality, legally defensible examinations for the chiropractic community, authorize the Executive Vice President to carry out day-to-day management of the NBCE, and oversee the performance of the Executive Vice President.  Specifically, the Board approves the annual budget; monitors the overall financial health of the NBCE, and affirms that the fiduciary and organizational responsibilities of the board have been fulfilled.
