NBCE Board of Directors

The NBCE is overseen by an 13-member board of directors.

Board of Directors Composition

The composition of the National Board begins at the state/district level. States that utilize NBCE exams may name delegates and alternates to attend the NBCE annual meeting. At the meeting, district delegates nominate a person to serve as district director. An assembly of all state delegates votes to accept or reject each district nominee. The board is composed of:

• Five District Directors elected by the delegates
• Two National At-Large Directors elected by the delegates
• One Agency Administrative Director elected by the delegates
• Five Board At-Large Directors elected by the Board

The Executive Committee is elected annually and shall consist of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Upon an affirmative majority vote, the Executive Committee may, at its discretion, invite a Past President to serve on the Executive Committee, provided that he or she is a member of the Board of Directors. If invited to serve on the Executive Committee, the Past President’s term may be as determined by the Executive Committee but shall expire at the next Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors; eligible Past Presidents may serve on the committee consecutively and non-consecutively.

The NBCE is a private, non-profit organization incorporated in the state of Texas and operates under bylaws.
